Accessibility
Last updated: February 6, 2026
Thumbs Up is designed to be accessible to everyone. We support the following accessibility features on iOS:
Supported features
VoiceOver
All screens, buttons, and status elements have clear labels so you can fully operate the app using gestures, keyboard, braille, and speech output.
Voice Control
Navigate and interact with the app using your voice. Tap, swipe, click, and type with voice commands.
Larger Text
All text in the app scales with your Dynamic Type setting, up to more than 200% of the original size.
Dark Interface
A full dark color scheme for all screens, menus, and controls, reducing eye strain.
Differentiate Without Color
Status information is always displayed with shapes, icons, or text alongside color, so you don't need color vision to understand the app.
Sufficient Contrast
All text and icons meet WCAG AA guidelines for contrast ratio, in both light and dark mode.
Reduced Motion
When you have "Reduce Motion" enabled, animations and transitions are automatically disabled or simplified.
Tips for use
- VoiceOver: The check-in button is extra large and automatically announces confirmations.
- Calendar: Each day in the calendar announces whether you checked in or not.
- Notifications: Reminders work with VoiceOver and other assistive technologies.
